| At least some are speaking out against the Beshear budget
He's the first Dem in my recent memory to have actually PROPOSED "cutting" something! I only wish he could bring himself to cut MORE items from the budget. Granted, he's trying to work a deal to GROW our state government -- but, you guys don't seem too willing to speak positively of the effort... Citizen Joe Posted: Wed Feb 20, 2008 11:09 am .
Best Answers to Sunday Question ...
I have remained friends with many of them, and I consider them a part of making me the woman I am in business today. However, on the other hand I have worked for companies that viewed their employees as disposable liabilities. They didn't pay worth a darn and had the attitude "if you don't like it there's the door." Why is this? I understand there are some people who aren't good employees and are unreliable, but why treat everyone that way? Why not hire and treat people as though they were an asset to the company? The new old Alexandria
On a warm night, I go off in search of another monument, the el Montaza Palace Gardens, and discover a place I had not planned on visiting. It was too far for a walk from the old city and I didn't feel like taking a trip. But, as I discovered, it is only a long taxi ride along the Corniche to get to this 19th Century palace, which served as the Egyptian royal family's summer home until the 1952 revolution that ended their rule. The palace is surrounded by acres of greenery with walkways curling through leafy public gardens and leading to a delicious looking private beach that belongs to the Helnan Palestine Hotel, a five-star hotel built for an Arab summit in 1964. On this night, crowds of people are gathering here to linger away the evening, many drawn to a wedding at one end of the park.

Putting a 'For Sale' sign on AECL
The Harper government has been working for months to get Atomic Energy of Canada Ltd. in shape for a sale - possibly to foreign owners - and the recent firing of former nuclear regulator Linda Keen is viewed in the industry as a key part of that effort. Suitors have been circling AECL as Ottawa brought in advisers from the National Bank of Canada to review the ownership of the 55-year-old nuclear reactor company. While much of the attention has focused on competitors such as France's Areva SA and U.S.-based General Electric Co., SNC-Lavalin Group Inc. has emerged as a potential domestic bidder that would likely leave a majority or significant minority stake in Canadian government hands. AECL's supporters in the nuclear industry are lobbying hard for a renewed federal commitment to Candu technology.
